Mr. Young was appointed as the Butler County Administrator on June 21, 2012 by the Butler County Board of County Commissioners. Mr. Young has a dozen years of private sector experience with General Motors, 5 years as a researcher with the University of Cincinnati and almost 2 decades in various management roles with the City of Hamilton. He began his public career as an engineer and rapidly advanced into management roles with an appointment to Deputy City Manager in 2007.
As County Administrator, Mr. Young is responsible for implementing County Commission policies; developing and monitoring the operating and capital budgets; and representing the Commission on various boards and commissions.
Mr. Young is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati.
Mr. Young resides in Hamilton with his wife and two daughters.
